My LRO Story - Xavier Horan
Age: 26
Hometown: Aspen, CO/Santa Fe, NM
Sport: Skiing
An accident on April 11, 1999 flipped Xavier Horan’s car and life upside down, when he broke his neck. However, Xavier’s will and determination to keep his life rolling wouldn’t prevent him from getting back on the ski slopes.
As an ambassador for LRO, Xavier explains, “LRO is an organization that shows people that after SCI nothing can keep you from your dreams and goals. People involved with LRO are truly inspiring and can really push others to achieve what they want in life, injured or not.”
Today, Xavier keeps challenging himself to try new things and excel in life, not only as an athlete, but also as a person. This Oscar®-winning sound editor and competitive mono-skier lets nothing, including a T5/T6 spinal cord injury, get in his way. Mentor to newly-injured athletes and a spokesperson for LRO, “X” is also savvy businessman, as a partner in the streetwear/lifestyle company Rogue Status.
