 1st Annual East Coast Golf Tournament
Inaugural Event a Huge Success!
Nearly a full field of 144 golfers got together on September 30th for the first ever Life Rolls On East Coast golf tournament in New Jersey! The event raised close to $30,000! Congratulations and THANK YOU go to LRO volunteer, and reigning West Coast LRO Golf Tournament champion, Chad de Satnick, for putting on such an amazing event. Thank you Chad, all the volunteers and participants! Mark your calendars for late September 2007!

The LRO Advocates, whose profiles are available in more detail on the website, have made a concerted effort to make the world aware that life with a spinal cord injury can still be amazing! Through individual efforts of courage, whether it be surfing, motocross, wakeboarding, skateboarding or dance, Life Rolls On advocates/ambassadors are living life to the fullest, shifting paradigms, and leaving a path of change wherever they go - Just look at the "Image of the Month" and "Feedback of the Month" at right, both inspired by LRO Advocate Ricky James.

LRO gives $50,000 For Spinal Cord Injury Research
 Donation to Christopher Reeve Foundation
Life Rolls On was the Gold Sponsor alongside Michael Douglas & Catherine Zeta-Jones at the late September gala event held in Beverly Hills. LRO's donation will be earmarked in full to spinal cord injury research. Hall of Fame Nominations
Familiar Names to LRO
The National Spinal Cord Injury Association has named Life Rolls On's Patrick Ivison and Jesse Billauer as nominees for the Emerging Leaders Award, a special award given in conjunction with then the Spinal Cord Injury Hall of Fame. Nominees for this award should "exhibit exceptional leadership qualities in a local or regional capacity toward the improvement of opportunities or quality of life for persons living with SCI". Congratulations go out to all the nominees, all of you are doing fantastic work for spinal cord injury.

 Extreme Makeover: Home Edition & LRO
Life Rolls On Has  Connection
The Redondo Beach (California) home of Los Angeles Police Department officer, Kristina Ripatti, who was recently shot and paralyzed in the line of duty, is being completely remodeled by the volunteer crews of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. Kristina and 20 of her LAPD colleagues attended the LRO July 2006 Night By the Ocean gala. This episode is tentatively scheduled to air the Sunday of Thanksgiving - tune in for what promises to be an amazing show, full of surprises!

 Snowboarders Risk Serious Spine Injuries
Caution Urged As Winter Begins
"Amateur snow-boarders who try to catch some air can put themselves at risk of paralyzing spinal cord injuries, warn researchers. In a study of 18 snow-boarders treated at their hospital for spinal cord injuries, Japanese doctors found that failed jumps were the cause in most cases."

The surf industry’s leaders and stars gathered to raise funds for 12 surf-related humanitarian organizations at Liquid Nation Ball 3. The Surf Industry Manufacturers Association (SIMA) Humanitarian Fund raised $220,000 at the event, all of which will be distributed to a dozen organizations, including the Life Rolls On Foundation.
