My LRO Story - Tara Llanes
Age: 32
Hometown: Brea, CA
Sport: Mountain Biking

On September 1, 2007 Tara Llanes was racing in the Jeep King of the Mountain finals in Vail, Colorado when an accident during a jump, resulted in Llanes landing on her head, paralyzing her from the waist down.
Within a year-and-a-half of her injury, Tara is already rolling back on track, never losing site of her dream to someday walk and race again. Currently she is training to competitively race hand-cycles and has been tapped to be the newest spokesperson for “The Perfect Pushup,” a popular infomercial product.
As an ambassador for LRO, Tara proudly promotes Life Rolls On’s mission and its programs. “When someone is affected, either directly or indirectly by SCI, they can easily look to LRO for inspiration,” she explains. “It is important to keep leading an active social lifestyle after an injury like this and LRO has great programs, such as They Will Surf Again, to help inspire people to stay positive throughout lives journey and to never give up.”
