The Story
For the past 13 years, Jesse’s entry into the world of public speaking came from the personal desire and will to share his life experiences with others. Being only 17 years of age when struck with a spinal cord injury, Jesse knew early on that his life was forever changed. His motivational speaking spans topics that reach and respect the young minds of students and families all over, and create a connection that inspires his audiences to realize that there is more to life than most people believe.
He is quickly becoming known internationally for his warmth, energy and openness in his speaking engagements. Jesse brings his vast experiences from the world of being a professional athlete to surviving a spinal cord injury into organizations and corporations in a way all ages can relate to.
Jesse Billauer shares his life experiences in such a manner as to impress upon the audience the fragility of life, and the need to appreciate the benefits of a healthy living. With such dedication and love for life, Jesse has inspired people to look at their lives in a more thoughtful and thankful way. As a result, he has helped them in their personal as well as professional careers.
Jesse Billauer has been featured on TV shows such as Good Morning America, Dateline NBC, Entertainment Television’s True American Story, TLC’s While You Were Out, and was featured in the motion picture, Step into Liquid. A soon to be released documentary movie on his life, Jesse’s Story, will surely inspire people worldwide to enjoy today knowing tomorrow is not guaranteed. The film shows that your world as you know it can change in an instant and you should not wait for a tragedy to tell those important to you that you love them. No matter how bad things may appear, happiness is just a positive thought away.

Testimonials
"Jesse has been an inspiration to me the day that I met him...his injury was now part of his life and he clearly was determined to maintain his love for life thru surfing.....today he continues to tell his story and motivate all that come into contact with his joy for making each day special"
- Dick Baker (late CEO of Ocean Pacific and President of SIMA (Surf Industry Manufacturers Association))
“Yet in spite of knowing Jesse, I was still overwhelmed by the assembly. It gave me a renewed sense of pursuing the important things in life, both in my job and in my personal life. I think that many of our students felt the same way.”
- Michael Matthews, Principal, Malibu High School
The message was very powerful and if you can imagine being able to hear a pin drop in our auditorium with 750 middle school students, that speaks for itself!
- Bill Laine, former Vice Principal Pacific Beach Middle School
Through the use of video and lecture, he illustrates how rich and meaningful human relationships have become to him since he was injured, and that his disability struck his body only, while leaving his spirit intact and powerful....anyone who invites Jesse into their community will share this experience.
- Holly Korbonski, Teacher at Pacific Palisades High
